The road at Umgall is expected to remain shut for a number of hours following an early morning collision in Malin Head.

Diversions are in place at the Umgall Junction, which is located near the primary school. Please use an alternative route if possible.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 6:50am this morning, Tuesday. The driver of both vehicles, two males, have been taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained. 

“We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with gardaí,” a garda spokesperson said. “If anybody travelled in that area with a dashcam between 6.30am and 7am this morning we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí also. Gardaí in Buncrana may be contacted on 074-9320540 in relation to the incident.”
