Adrian McMyler says the absence of a footpath along Hillhead Road poses a significant threat to the safety of pedestrians
Independent candidate in the Buncrana local electoral area Adrian McMyler has declared his commitment to pedestrian safety.
The Buncrana man, who is contesting the local elections for the first time, has particularly stressed the urgent need for a footpath along the town’s Hillhead Road.
He said he is taking a proactive stance on addressing what he says is a lack of pedestrian infrastructure in the area.
"In my conversations with local residents and my observations of the local landscape, it has become abundantly clear that the absence of a footpath along Hillhead Road poses a significant threat to the safety of pedestrians, including children and families,” he said.
“As an independent candidate, I am dedicated to advocating for the well-being of our community and ensuring that our local infrastructure meets the needs of all residents.
“Recognizing the gravity of the situation and the longstanding nature of the issue, I pledge to lobby on behalf of the residents to the Donegal County Council relentlessly to extend the footpath along the full loop of Hillhead Road If elected, I will be a vocal advocate for the extension of the footpath, working tirelessly to secure the necessary resources and support from the council to address this concern.
He said his campaign to get elected to Donegal County Council “is rooted in a deep commitment to community empowerment and proactive governance” and by prioritising pedestrian safety and infrastructure improvements, he aims to create “a safer and more inclusive environment for all residents of Buncrana”.
