Artist impressions of the planned student apartment complex
Donegal County Council has granted permission for a complex comprising 32 student apartments in Letterkenny.
The decision will be seen as a boost to potential students looking for accommodation at the Donegal Letterkenny Campus of Atlantic Technological University.
Planning for the site at Ramelton Road was granted on May 29.
The council imposed 14 conditions as part of the planning permission, including two separate conditions that the developer should pay a combined €59,846.90 to the council and the Planning Authority in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting the development, as well as facilitating the development.

Included in the development, as well as 32 student apartments, is a day room, a servery, a laundry room, an IT room, and a plant room. There is also a provision for a foul sewer connection and a wastewater connection connecting to the existing public domain.
The permission that was issued will cease to have effect in five years if any part of the development has not been completed.
