Letterkenny Tidy Towns member Charlie Grant to be honoured with civic reception

Charlie Grant has worked with Letterkenny Tidy Towns for many years

Charlie Grant, a valued member of Letterkenny Tidy Towns, will receive a civic reception in honour of his contributions to the town.

The motion to formally recognise Grant was put forward by Cllr Tomás Seán Devine at the Letterkenny-Milford MD meeting.

The 100% Redress Party councillor praised Grant for “his tireless hard work” and said many people will have “fond memories” of Grant from over the years.

“Charlie has never been found wanting for making the town look its best, between housing estates, the town itself, the Church lane, schools, the list goes on,” said Cllr Devine. “A nice civic reception would be a small gesture to recognise Charlie's hard work along with his team of helpers.”

Cllr Gerry McMonagle agreed with Cllr Devine, saying: “He deserves recognition and a civil reception. I’m delighted to second the motion and hold a civic reception for him.

“He is a modest man whose great work around Letterkenny is well deserving of recognition.”

Cllr Donal Coyle said it was an “excellent motion” and he commended the work Grant has done, saying “it's only right he has a presentation.”
