The Black and Amber 4 For Aidan Road Race has raised a total of €5,000.

The road race was held in February this year in Letterkenny in memory of local man, Aidan McGlynn.

The proceeds from the event will be shared evenly between St Eunan’s GAA Club’s minor board and Letterkenny Athletic Club’s juvenile section.

On Sunday afternoon in the James McDaid Stand at O’Donnell Park, Kathy McGlynn, wife of the late Aidan McGlynn, and members of the McGlynn family, presented the cheque to representatives of St Eunan’s GAA Club and Letterkenny Athletic Club, following St Eunan’s opening game in the senior championship against Kilcar.

A popular and much-loved character, Aidan passed away on September 5, 2024, from Motor Neurone Disease, aged 50.

The four-mile road race/walk was held in association with Sister Sara’s Bar and Restaurant in Letterkenny and attracted an entry of 323.
