Shaun Patton and his partner, Rebecca Fletcher, have announced their engagement.
The couple took to social media to share the news while on a short break in the Italian capital, Rome.
"Nearly 10 years in the making, here's to forever," she shared. Rebecca, also a Letterkenny-native, is employed as a PE and maths teacher.
Patton, who plays in goals for Donegal’s senior footballers, made his 101st appearance in the All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry at Croke Park, having helped Jim McGuinness’s side to win the Ulster crown in May. A member of An Garda Síochána based in Inishowen, he is currently lining out for St Eunans in a bid to defend their Donegal SFC.
The pair are now travelling back home to Donegal.
