Christmas comes early as Donegal player claims €500,000 EuroMillions Plus Prize

One Donegal player has claimed quite the treat with Christmas just days away, collecting their cheque for €500,000 at National Lottery HQ.

The Letterkenny player won the top prize of €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday, 9 December. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at XL Blaney Stores in Lagg, Milford.

Speaking to the National Lottery the winner said: “I’m still in complete disbelief! It hasn’t sunk in yet. While I don’t have any immediate plans, I’m really looking forward to taking some time over the Christmas period to enjoy the win and think about what comes next!”

Meanwhile, the National Lottery is continuing its appeal to Daily Million Plus players in Ardara, as a €500,000 prize from the Daily Million 2pm draw on Sunday, 12th October, is still waiting to be claimed.  The winning ticket was purchased at Ardara Filling Station, Portnoo Road, Ardara, on Friday, 10th October.

The winning Daily Million Plus (2pm on Sunday, 12th October) numbers were: 9, 16, 24, 29, 32, 38, and the Bonus number was 5. All National Lottery ticket holders have 90 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize, which means the Donegal winner has until close of business on Saturday, 10th January 2026 to claim – just under three weeks to go.

Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said:  “Donegal has seen some incredible wins recently, including a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize on December 9th and a €500,000 Daily Million Plus prize from the 2pm draw on October 12th. We were delighted to welcome our Letterkenny EuroMillions Plus winner to National Lottery HQ to claim their prize, and we’re eagerly awaiting to hear from the Daily Million Plus winner who purchased their ticket at Ardara Filling Station.

"With the deadline fast approaching on Saturday, 10th January, we’re encouraging everyone in the area to check any old tickets they might have tucked away. You never know – your winning ticket could be sitting in a drawer or jacket pocket right now!”

If you’re holding the winning ticket, sign the back of it and keep it somewhere safe. Contact the National Lottery prize claims team as soon as possible on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie. Arrangements will be made for you to collect your prize at Lottery HQ.
