One of the local emenities defaced on Sentry Hill in Letterkenny
A former sergeant and local Peace Commissioner based in Letterkenny has called on graffiti artists and litterers in the town to show some respect.
Christy Galligan has said that he sees the “sad reality” of memorials being defaced, citing examples in the Sentry Hill area.
“It seems defacing public property, or a memorial in dedication to those who've contributed to the local community, is fair game for graffiti artists,” he said.

“The sad reality is, as I do my daily walks, there are areas of Letterkenny town where public defacing has become all too common, like littering, as I have witnessed in a public space area opposite St. Eunan's College. The attached photos say all that needs to be said.
“I would ask those with their spray cans or markers to consider the groups and individual volunteers who have done so much to make our town clean and welcoming. Don't deface it, just leave it alone.”
