Would-be thieves stopped in their tracks after breaking into immobilised car

Gardaí are investigating the possible attempted theft of a car from Ballymacool Woods, Letterkenny on Wednesday, May 17, between 12.30pm and 7.30pm.

The window on the driver’s side was smashed and the ignition was tampered with. The car in question was fitted with an immobiliser and so the attempt was unsuccessful.

“We appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity in the area of Ballymacool Woods on May 17th to contact Gardaí,” a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana. “Given the fact that this occurred in broad daylight, we are hopeful that somebody may have seen something of benefit to our investigation.
