Tanvisri Malaram and Fiona Jobin were award winners at the at the national FÍS Storyboarding Competition
Two Scoil Cholmcille, Letterkenny, pupils have received awards at the National FÍS Storyboarding Competition.
Fiona Jobin from Mr Odhran McGowan’s fourth class won the third and fourth class category. This annual competition aims to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
The judges, when commenting on Fiona’s entry, said that it was “truly awe-inspiring” to witness such artistic vision and storytelling ability at such a young age. Her entry ‘New Neighbours’ was unique and imaginative and showcased her immense creativity.
In what was a remarkable few days for Scoil Cholmcille’s budding filmmakers, the school was delighted to hear the news that Fiona’s classmate and good friend Tanvisri Malaram’s entry ‘The Land of the Forever Frost’ was awarded third place in the same highly competitive category.
The competition’s judges noted that there were a “multitude of exceptional entries from schools all over the country” but they commended the standard set by the Scoil Cholmcille students as “outstanding.” “The school is exceptionally proud of Fiona and Tanvisri for their wonderful achievement,” saif Mr McGowan.
