The Rev Jim Lamont, artists who performed in the concert and Lucy McGettigan, Assistant Director of Nursing at Donegal Hospice, and Hospice Chairperson Isobell Doherty
The Rev Jim Lamont recently presented a cheque for €3,300 to Lucy McGettigan, Assistant Director of Nursing at Donegal Hospice, and Hospice Chairperson Isobell Doherty, representing the proceeds of a fund-raising concert that he organised at An Grianan Theatre in Letterkenny in June.
Also in attendance at the presentation were four of the artists who performed in the concert, Dianne Lecky from Pluck, Manorcunningham, Maria Doherty and her father Hugh P from Buncrana and Andrea Long from Ballybofey, along with Robin Morton who assisted with the promotion of the event.
The concert, An Evening with the Rev Jim Lamont and Friends on June 9, drew a near-capacity attendance of 350 with all proceeds going to the Hospice. Mr Lamont, who presents a fortnightly Sunday morning service on Highland Radio, is the Presbyterian Chaplain at Donegal Hospice and Letterkenny University Hospital.
Mr Lamont, Minister Emeritus of Dunfanaghy and Carrigart congregations, is the author of three popular books, the latest of which - Highland Hope - is on sale in local bookshops.
