Letterkenny University Hospital is the third busiest in the country

On Thursday morning, there were 37 people awaiting in-patient beds at Letterkenny University Hospital - nine of those are in the emergency department and 28 are in other wards

Letterkenny University Hospital is the third busiest in the country

Only University Hospital Limerick and Cork University Hospital had more patients awaiting beds than Letterkenny University Hospital on Thursday morning

Letterkenny University Hospital is the third busiest in the country according to figures just released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).  

On Thursday morning, there were 37 people awaiting in-patient beds. Nine of those are in the emergency department and 28 are in other wards. 

Overall, University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 106 people awaiting a hospital bed, followed by Cork University Hospital with 46 awaiting. Additionally, Sligo University Hospital has 26 people waiting on beds. 

Meanwhile, Nationwide there are 455 admitted patients waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch. 327 patients are in the emergency department, while 128 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
