Eamonn McDevitt, inset, and the Good and New Cancer Bus
The death has taken place of Eamonn McDevitt, best known for founding the Good and New Cancer Bus.
The service, entirely supported by volunteers and funds raised by the local community, carries patients from all over Donegal on the four-hour journey to Galway.
Eamonn, from Dooen Glebe, Newmills, Glenswilly, passed peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his devoted wife Lynn. Deeply regretted by his loving children James, Cathy, Eamonn, Ryan, Shane, Tom and granddaughter Ayda. Brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, godchildren and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.
Removal took place today, Saturday, from Eternal Light Chapel Of Rest Mountain, Top Letterkenny, to his late residence. Funeral from there on Monday morning, November 6, going to St. Columba's Church, Glenswilly, for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Temple Douglas Cemetery. Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.
Family flowers only, with donations, in lieu, to the Good and New Cancer Bus Charity care of any family or Charlie Mc Clafferty Funeral Director.
