Substantial amount of cash and jewellery stolen from Letterkenny house

Gardaí are appealing following a burglary that occurred at a house in the area of Creeve, Letterkenny. The front door of the property was forced open and entry was gained.

A number of rooms were ransacked and a safe was forced open within the property and the contents were stolen. 

Among the items stolen was a substantial sum of cash and various items of jewellery. Some of the stolen jewellery items were a white gold diamond and sapphire engagement ring, a yellow gold and diamond wedding ring, diamond sapphire earrings, diamond drop earrings, circular diamond earrings with a red stone in the centre and a men’s jade bracelet with brown stones.

The burglary occurred at a house in Creeve between 3pm on Wednesday, January 3 and 00.10am on Thursday, January 4. 

“We appeal to jewellers to make contact with gardaí if anybody should come to their store to have a similar type of jewellery valued or sold on,” Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

“Should anybody have relevant information in relation to the incident we ask them to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
