At approximately 7pm on Tuesday, one man entered a local shop armed with a knife and threatened staff and left the scene with a large sum of money - in a follow-up search, Gardaí arrested two men, both aged in their 20s

Gardai made two arrests after shop staff in Rathmullan threatened with knife

Gardaí in Milford have arrested two men following an investigation into a robbery of a business premises that occurred on Pound Street, Rathmullan on Thursday evening.

"At approximately 7pm, one man entered the premises armed with a knife and threatened staff," An Garda Siochana said. "No persons were injured during the incident. He left the scene with a large sum of money.

"In a follow-up search, Gardaí arrested two men - both aged in their 20s - and recovered the money and weapon. Both men are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Northern region. Investigations are ongoing."
