Late-night assault leaves man hospitalised in Letterkenny

Gardaí in Letterkenny are appealing for witnesses after a man was hospitalised following an assault by another man, who then fled in a car

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was hospitalised after being attacked by another man, who then took off in a car, late at night at Lower Main Street, Letterkenny. 

The injured man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening in nature. The second man left the area with a number of others in a vehicle that had been parked at Lower Main Street. The assault occured on Sunday the January, 28, at approximately 11.40pm.

“We appeal to anybody who witnessed the incident the make contact with us,” Garda Claire Rafferty said. 

“We also appeal to drivers who have a dash cam and who travelled down Lower Main Street between 10pm and Midnight last Sunday night to make the footage available to Gardaí. Gardaí in Letterkenny may be contacted on 074-9167100.”
