Letterkenny Chamber Council have passed on their condolences following the passing of  Past President Michael Boyd

Michael's peaceful death has occurred in the exceptional care of all the staff of Hillcrest Nursing Home, Letterkenny, surrounded by his loving family. Michael Boyd, lived at Portsdale, Ballyraine, Letterkenny, and was a native of Riverstown, Co Sligo.

"We, the Letterkenny Chamber Council, and staff, past and present, were very saddened to hear about the untimely death of our esteemed member and Past President Michael Boyd," Letterkenny Chamber posted.

"Michael was closely involved with the Chamber over many years and served as President in 1999/2000. A proud Sligo man, he was committed to the development of Letterkenny and the North West and was always available with advice and guidance, not just to the Chamber, but to so many of our members and the wider business community.

"Michael built a business with a great reputation based on dignity and trust and was always the calming voice when advice was needed. Over the years he gave so generously of his time and expertise to the Chamber and to so many others who held him in high regard. We offer our heartfelt sympathy to his wife June, children, Siofra, Darragh, Aiobhinn and Cian, the wider family circle and close friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. May he Rest in Peace."

Michael will be reposing at his late residence (F92 DD5Y) today Saturday, February 3, and Sunday 4 with wake from 2pm to 8pm. Private family burial on Monday.
