Gardaí are investigating a theft that occurred in the area of Rowan Park, Letterkenny.

A car was parked in that area and items were being unloaded from the car to a house when the theft of an Apple iPad from the car occurred. The iPad in question is unique in that it is set up as a communications tool for a person with additional needs.

The theft happened on Saturday, February 3 between approximately 5:30pm and 5:45pm. “We are anxious to have this item returned to the owner,” Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

“We appeal to residents in the area who may have observed suspicious activity/people in the area between those times to make contact with us.

“We also appeal to anybody who may have travelled through the area with a dash cam between 5:30pm to 6pm to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100. “Should anybody be approached to reset an Apple iPad or if they are offered one for sale on a second-hand basis we ask them to contact gardaí also.”
