Gardaí were contacted by a resident who observed a male at the rear of their property.
When the man realised he had been seen he took off on foot. The caller later realised that a bank card had been stolen from their car which had been unlocked. The incident occurred on the Cullion Road area, Letterkenny at approximately 2am on Sunday, April 14.
“We appeal to other residents in the area to make contact with us in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 if they observed a male on foot in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning approximately 2am,” a Garda spokesperson said. “If anybody travelled in that area around that time with a dash cam, we ask them to make the footage available to us.
“We would like to remind everybody to please ensure that their vehicle is locked at all times when left unattended whether it is parked at home or in a public place. Do not leave cash or other valuables in it. Keep your keys out of sight and away from windows in your home.”
