Ramelton's Jason McCahill wins TG4's Glór Tire Country Music crown

The Ramelton native performed ‘The Ferryman’ - a song made famous by the Dublin City Ramblers - to win the vote, while Dunfanghy’s Chelsea Evans did herself proud with ‘Bring On The Good Times’.

Jason McCahill became Glór Tire Country Music Champion 2024 on TG4 on Tuesday night

Jason McCahill has been crowned Glór Tire Country Music Champion 2024 on TG4.

The Ramelton native performed ‘The Ferryman’ - a song made famous by the Dublin City Ramblers - to win the vote. Dunfanghy’s Chelsea Evans did herself proud with ‘Bring On The Good Times’.

The award is considered one of the most prestigious in Irish Country. Also in the final were Fermanagh’s Karl Kirkpatrick, who sang 'Fiddle In The Band', a song well known to Jimmy Buckley fans; Effie Neill from Cork who did 'Thanks To You' and Shannen Carroll of Meath, with  ‘I’m Moving On’.

The Glór Tire Grand Final was presented by Aoife Ní Thuairisg. The judges on the night were RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltachta’s Jó Ní Chéide and Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin, with guest judge, Eddie Rowley from Sunday World.
