A Letterkenny-based start-up has launched what has been described as 'a cutting-edge web platform' designed to empower small businesses and sole traders to compete on an equal footing with the big stores and the multi-nationals when it comes to issuing vouchers.
Founder of Gojas, the company behind the venture, Patrick McArt said he got the idea when last Christmas he attempted to buy vouchers as presents for friends at some retail outlets locally only to find the businesses couldn’t facilitate him.
Patrick commented: “I was struck by two things at that time – rather than me buying something that my friends might not want, I didn't have the option to give them a voucher to buy something of their own choice. And, secondly, the thought occurred how much business these outlets were losing simply because they were not in a position to issue their own vouchers?
That was a sort of lightbulb moment for Patrick.
“It sort of clicked in my head that there had to be a way of solving the problem that was beneficial to both parties," he said. "That’s was the genesis of the project.”
Now for the technical bit – he explained how it works: “It’s really simple. Customers can buy vouchers online and send them via phone number or email. The recipient receives a QR code, which can be scanned for verification and redemption, streamlining the entire process.”
Speaking earlier this week Patrick said they had been working on the project for quite a few months and were now in a position to go public.
He stated: “Enabling the creation, sale, and seamless redemption of digital vouchers, Gojas offers an innovative solution that enhances digital presence, increases customer engagement, and drives sales. Gojas, without question. addresses the limitations of traditional and existing digital vouchers. Unlike traditional physical vouchers, Gojas’s digital vouchers are easy to purchase and redeem.
“Customers can buy vouchers online and send them via phone number or email. The recipient receives a QR code, which can be scanned for verification and redemption, streamlining the entire process.”
Stating that his product could be adapted to suit every need, Patrick explained Gojas would adopt a subscription-based model featuring multiple tiers to accommodate diverse business needs.
He added that the roll out will begin in the coming days and to help potential customers evaluate the product, an initial free trial period will be available.
"We are excited to launch Gojas and provide small businesses with a powerful tool to thrive in the digital economy," Patrick said. "Our platform simplifies the voucher process and offers numerous features to help businesses grow."
