Detective Garda Callaghan, Sergeant McLoone and Nurse Dolores Callaghan with Honorary Garda Conal Shiels
An Garda Síochána in Donegal have welcomed their newest member to the force - Honorary Garda Conal Pio Shiels.
Conal is the son of Kieran and Aoife Shiels, the brother of Cara of Senan, from Conwal, Letterkenny.
"We would like to introduce you to Honorary Garda Conal Pio Shiels who was presented with his uniform by Detective Garda Donal Callaghan and Sergeant Gráinne Pio McLoone," they posted. "Detective Garda Callaghan and Sgt McLoone were first introduced to Conal by Garda Callaghan's mother, who has nursed him since he was a baby.
"Conal has more recently been nursed by Sergeant McLoone's sister. Both nurses are part of a pool of nurses who provide great care for our Little Blue Hero, Honorary Garda Conal Shiels."
