Letterkenny-based travel company announce the sudden passing of Eugene McGettigan

Eugene McGettigan passed away this week

McGettigan Travel, based in Letterkenny, have said they are "absolutely devastated" following the passing of their team member and driver Eugene McGettigan.

"With a very heavy heart, we are absolutely devastated to announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, uncle, friend and a highly important member of our family and team here at McGettigan Travel," they posted. "Eugene, you were the heart and soul of our tours, always willing for a chat and ready for anything, anytime, any place ...

"His premature passing will leave a huge void in our daily lives and his ever cheerful and knowledgeable presence will be sorely missed. May his gentle soul rest in peace  We're certain there will be a man to meet you on the other side for a yarn or two. Our sincere condolences go Eugene's sons Barry (Caroline), Ryan, Rory (Deandra) and Eileen and his two granddaughters Erin and Chloe."
