Cara Hannon, inset, will be laid to rest of Friday
Tributes have been paid to the late Cara Hannon, Listillion, Letterkenny, following her passing.
Deeply missed by her loving parents PJ and Nellie, sister Emma Maguire (Shaun Paul), brother Patrick (Vivienne), uncles and aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends and colleagues at the Loreto Convent, St. Eunan’s College and Lizzie’s Diner and Oyster Bar, Dunfanaghy.
Cara is described as someone who “radiated warmth and joy” and with an “infectious smile, caring, fun, witty, professional, loving, personality.”
Cara is predeceased by her grandparents Patrick and Annie Hannon, Leitrim and Charlie and Margaret Gallen, Knocknamona, Letterkenny.
“It is with deep shock and broken hearts that we have learned of the death of our beloved colleague, Miss Cara Hannon,” Loreto Letterkenny posted.
“Cara was a past pupil of Loreto Letterkenny, who completed her Leaving Cert in 2019. Cara was more recently a PME (Professional Masters in Education) student, doing her teaching practice here with us, up until last Friday. She was due to complete her studies in May.
“Cara radiated warmth and joy and had a great relationship with her students and colleagues. She will be missed very much by all of us. On behalf of management, staff and students we extend our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Cara’s family and friends. May Miss Hannon rest in eternal peace.”
Lizzie’s Diner Dunfanaghy posted: “It is with a very heavy broken heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of our dear Friend and Colleague Cara Hannon. A loving friend, Cara touched so many lives with her infectious smile, caring, fun, witty, professional, loving, personality.
“Our deepest condolences are with Nellie, Pj, Paddy and Emma and all her extended family and wide circle of friends. Until we meet again, rest easy our beautiful angel! Always remembered and forever loved by all your Lizzies Diner and Oyster Bar Family.”
Cara’s remains will repose at the family home in Listillion on Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm until after the Rosary at 9pm.
Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to The Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube Channel. Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny.
