After 47 years of working at Glenveagh National Park, Creeslough native James McGinley closed his office door for the final time last week.

For almost half a century, James has held numerous jobs at Glenveagh, starting when he was just 19 years of age. Throughout his career, James worked, amongst other things, in Storekeeping, Procurement, Rhodendron Control and most recently was instrumental in getting Museum status for Glenveagh Castle.

With his time away from the Park, James will now turn his attention to the farm at Feymore, although rumours circulating around Muckish is that he was observed recently taking the cobwebs off his golf clubs. James’ friends wish him, Anne and the family a healthy and happy retirement.
