Accommodation shortage prompts Finn Harps appeal to members

Finn Harps FC are seeking a long-term rental property for players

Finn Harps have issued an appeal to its membership for a long-term rental property to house some first team players in 2026.

At a time when demand is outweighing supply in the market and the price of rental properties has rocketed, Harps are facing a challenge in the area.

While Harps’ outlay for accomodation has considerably dropped in recent seasons, the club’s most recent accounts showed a spend of €24,674 for player accomodation and expenses in 2024 - falling from €40,950 in 2023.

In the past three seasons, since relegation from the Premier Division in 2022, Harps have had to cut their cloth, but still need accomodation for players hailing from outside Donegal.

“We are urgently looking for a long-term rental property in the Twin Towns area and wanted to reach out to our community in case anyone can help or point us in the right direction,” Harps said in a recent circular to members.

“Ideally, we are seeking: a 2, 3, 4, or 5+ bedroom house located in or around the Twin Towns available for an ongoing, long-term rental.

“As many will be aware, securing suitable long-term accommodation locally has become increasingly challenging, and support from within our community can make a real difference in helping the club operate sustainably.”

Harps have asked that anyone who knows of a property that might be available or a landlord who may be open to an approach to get in touch with the club.

Harps, who open their pre-season campaign on Tuesday night with a home game against Sligo Rovers at Finn Park, begin the 2026 sesson against Athlone Town on February 13.
