Declan Meehan almost trebled his vote in the Milford LEA and has taken a massive step towards taking one of the three seats, with John O'Donnell currently looking like missing out. 

Liam Blaney and Pauric McGarvey are taking up seats two and three, with things looking like they will run right to the wire back in Letterkenny on Sunday. Meehan spoke to Chris McNulty afterwards

Nine candidates are contesting the three-seat LEA which forms part of the Letterkeny-Milford municipal district. Sitting councillors John O’Donnell, Kilmacrennan (non-party), Liam Blaney (Fianna Fáil) and Pauric McGarvey (non-party) are seeking reelection.

Candidates: Éamonn Jackson, Glenkeen, Milford, 100% Redress; John O’Donnell, Kilmacrennan, non-party; Maria Doherty, Carrigart, Sinn Féin; Declan Meehan, Ramelton, non-party; Aaron Sweeney, Cranford, Fine Gael; Liam Blaney, Tamney, Fianna Fáil; Vincent J Bradley, Carrigart, non-party; Pauric McGarvey, Rathmullan; non-party; Kathleen Deeney, Rathmullan, Aontú.

Final tallies from Milford, where there are three seats
1 - Declan Meehan, Ramelton, non-party; 21%, 1,712
2 - Liam Blaney, Tamney, Fianna Fáil; 18.8%, 1,534
3 - Pauric McGarvey, Rathmullan; non-party; 16.9%, 1,378
4 - John O’Donnell, Kilmacrennan, non-party; 16.3%, 1,327
5 - Maria Doherty, Carrigart, Sinn Féin; 11.3%, 918
