Local Elections: Donegal LEA Count 7 complete and still no-one elected

Cllr Micheál Naughton needs only four votes to secure the first seat in Donegal LEA election 2024

Following Donegal LEA Count 7 in the St John Bosco Centre, Donegal Town, Cllr Micheál Naughton (FF) is a tantalising four votes off the quota of 1,985. 

Cllr Michael McMahon (SF) has pulled into second place with 1,840 votes, having gained 227 transfers from fellow Bundoran man Diarmaid Doherty. His party colleague Cllr Noel Jordan is not far behind on 1,829.

Jimmy Brogan (Ind)  is holding firmly in fourth place on 1557.

Cllr Barry Sweeny (FG) also gained strongly from Diarmaid Doherty's transfers, and sits in fifth place on 1,440, followed by Pauric Kennedy (Ind) on 1,410. 

Cllr Niamh Kennedy has pulled into sixth place on 1,357, with Fine Gael's Manus Boyle on 1,355 

The Fine Gael candidates are hot on his heels, with Barry Sweeny on 1,360 and Manus Boyle with 1,352 votes.
