Frank McBrearty and Martin Harley have been returned to their seats on Donegal County Council.
McBrearty gained a massive 445 transfers following the distribution of Niall McConnell’s 1,127 votes to bring his total to 1,939 in the Lifford-Stranorlar LEA. Harley received another 62 to take him to 1,638, surpassing the quota by just nine votes.
That leaves just three candidates to fill the two remaining seats: Patrick McGowan (FF) on 1,474, Dakota Nic Mheanman (SF) on 1,321 and Gerry Crawford (FF) on 1,213.
