Pauric Kennedy has been eliminated after Count 9 in the Donegal LEA
Independent candidate Pauric Kennedy has been eliminated after Count Nine of the Donegal LEA count in the St John Bosco Centre.
His 1,423 transfers are being distributed among the remaining six candidates who are vying for five seats, with Cllr Micheál Naughton (FF) having already been re-elected to the Donegal LEA.
Sinn Féin sitting councillors, Noel Jordan and Michael McMahon are well on track to retain their seats. Cllr Jordan is on 1,875 while Cllr McMahon is on 1,856.
Jimmy Brogan (Ind) has held fourth place throughout the count, and heading into the tenth count, he is on 1,717 and expected to transfer well from Pauric Kennedy.
Next is Cllr Niamh Kennedy (Ind) who has transferred very well and is in fifth place on 1,622.
Of the two Fine Gael candidates, Manus Boyle is on 1,595 and Barry Sweeny is on 1,452.
Pauric Kennedy's transfers could well see several candidates over the line, with surpluses then coming into play to potentially decide the final outcome.
