Taking the plunge in the Rosses for a very worthy cause
There was an excellent turn out at the first Face to Face annual New Years Dip in aid of Gemma's Legacy of Hope - Community Counselling Service for the community of The Rosses and Fintown.
The event took place at Keadue Blockyard at 1pm on New Year's Day.
A spokesperson said: "Many thanks to everyone far and wide who took part in the dip.
"We collected €598.90 at Keadue beach today. For those of you who would like to donate online you can do so here."
"Looking back at the data collected over the past 12 months we can now see that the service costs close to €70,000 per year and has to date been accessed by over 312 individuals who work or live in our community.
"Sometimes we need reminding that: "Asking for help is never a sign of weakness. Its one of the bravest things you can do and it can save a life" - Author unknown
"Gemma's Legacy of Hope has been created to provide a support in times of need by our community - for our community. Please spread the word and let our community know that it is there to provide help whenever and how ever often our community require it.
"Thank you all for your continued support and we wish you the very best of health and happiness in 2023."
