Clerical changes confirmed in Raphoe Diocese

The Bishop of Raphoe, Alan McGuckian, has announced some clerical changes

The Bishop of Raphoe, Alan McGuckian SJ, has announced some clerical changes – including a new Parish Priest for Tawnawilly.

Fr Niall Coll, the PP of Tawnawilly (Donegal and Clar) has been chosen as the next Bishop of Ossory.

Fr Coll will be ordained as Bishop on Sunday-week at St Mary's Cathedral.

Very Rev James Gillespie will succeed Fr Coll as the new Parish Priest of Tawnawilly, swapping his current post as PP in Falcarragh.

Fr Gillespie had been the Parish Priest in Falcarragh since July, 2018.

Rev John Boyce, the curate on Arranmore Island, will become the new Parish Priest in Falcarragh.

Fr John Attoh, who is on loan from the Diocese of Kafanchan, Nigeria and became priest in residence in Termon in August, has been selected as the new curate for Arranmore.

Bishop McGuckian SJ thanked those who have accepted new appointments in the Diocese.
