Funeral arrangements for popular postmistress who died in Killybegs collision

Eileen Kennedy sadly died following a road traffic collision in Killybegs

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Eileen Kennedy who sadly died after being struck by a van in Killybegs.

The recently retired post mistress was well known and very popular in the port town and her tragic death has been met with much shock and sadness.

Eileen's remains will repose at her residence on Thursday from 11am to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm.

Removal will take place on Friday morning at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs for 11am Funeral Mass, with removal afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium Cavan for cremation. The Mass will be streamed live on www.mcnmedia.tv

Family flowers only; donations in lieu if desired to the Irish Heart Foundation.

Eileen is survived by her loving husband Frankie, sons Colin, Ronan and Aiden, daughters-in-law Clare and Laura, grandchildren Róisín and Ciara, sister Mary, sisters-in-law and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

Gardaí Appeal

Gardai are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

They are also appealing to those with camera footage from the area at the time to make it available to them.
