Spooky film earns award for Daniel

Daniel produces that shocked look when he sees the Halloween horrors

Is there no end to this man's talent?

Not content with sweeping the boards in the Country and Gospel singing ratings for the past few decades, the Kincasslagh-born star Danial O'Donnell has proven he's got what it takes to make it on the big screen too.

Of course, many of us are following the repeats of his and his wife Majella's USA Road Trip series on RTÉ One ever Sunday morning but now things have gone up a gear with the news that a Halloween-themed short- film released last October has picked up an award.

Night of the Daniels saw Daniel make his acting debut when he teamed up with the makers of his viral Down At The Lah De Dah video, Shaun Duggan and Ciaran McCann of Re-Act Productions, for the spooky short film.

It certainly sparked a lot of interest and is still enjoying many visits on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com /watch?v=fBHmItLJ3JI)

Night of the Daniels picked up the silver Best Film award at the Sandbar International Film Awards.
This competition only accepts online submissions of short films (Under 41 mins) from all genres.

Each film is put through a rigorous process of judgment from each of the experienced jurors which include an international panel of award-winning writers, directors, producers and actors.

The panel then selects 25 films from the first stage of judging that will then become the official selection of that year.

The Sandbar International Film Awards run a serious and committed set-up, judging each project submitted fairly and on many values.

These include technically, performance wise, entertainment, charm and much, much, more...

It looks like the Re-Act Production lads have opened a new career path for Daniel O'Donnell.

Let's hope we don't have to wait until next Halloween for a sequel!
