Gardaí urge drivers to slow down and remind people they're not invincible

Gardaí have reminded road users, once again, that speed kills after clocking three drivers in excess of 120kph yesterday, Friday, evening between the hours 4pm and 5pm.

In a post to social media, gardaí say: "One of the speeds detected was 139kph. The roads were extremely busy at the time and weather conditions were very poor with heavy rain/wet road surfaces."

Gardaí say the appeal to 'slow down' should be taken on board.

"Perhaps some don't care? Maybe some think that they are invincible? We are ALL vulnerable on the roads. Nobody is invincible.
Save lives. Slow down," gardaí say.
