Irish Water is trying to find out why the water is off in parts of Letterkenny.
A spokesperson said: "We are investigating reports of supply disruptions affecting Bomany, Letterkenny and surrounding areas in County Donegal."
Motorists are advised that this may lead to traffic disruption.
Updates will be made available on water.ie once the cause has been established.
