Fears that wild deer could present a problem for motorists in and around the Kilcar area were highlighted at the recent meeting of the Donegal Municipal District.
Members heard from cathaoirleach, Cllr Niamh Kenned,y that she had received several reports from motorists who had encountered the animals on the road near Bavin, particularly at night time.
"It's very dangerous at the moment as there seems to be a lot of deer crossing the road in this area and obviously it's quite dangerous, particularly at night. I know there can't be a cull but if there is an opportunity to put up signs it might help," she said.
Area manager for roads and transportation, Mark Sweeney said he would examine the situation and come back to the cathaoirleach on the matter.
This was agreed.
