Those in attendance at the Foróige Donegal Regional Youth Conference in Ballybofey
Young people from north and south Donegal came together in Jacksons Hotel, Ballybofey to take part in Foroige’s Annual Regional Youth Conference.
Young people were given the opportunity to experience the democratic process and see how important using your vote can be by taking part in the election for the national Reference Panel. Meeting twice yearly, the Reference Panel will exchange ideas and influence local, regional and national Foróige decisions.
After a very tense election, three young people, Katy (Donegal Town), Patrick (Frosses) and Daithi( Buncrana) were elected to represent the young people of Donegal at this Reference Panel. It wasn't all about the election though, we had some epic competitions in a minute to win games, balloon relays and lots of other games!
The young people also discussed the results of a National Survey sent out to young people to explore what issues they think are most important to them with young people across Donegal citing education, mental health and bullying as the topics they think are most important. Some really important work was done that day by the young people who attended so a big thank you to them.
