The owner of the Letterkenny Coach company has described the overnight delay at the Port of Dover as 'the worst ever.'

The Letterkenny Coach company was among vehicles left stranded overnight at the Port of Dover following delays at French border control and increased coach numbers.

P&O Ferries said coach queues were up to 3 hours while DFDS Seaways apologised to passengers for waits of around two hours for coaches and cars.

The owner of Letterkenny Coaches, Garvan Boyce confirmed they are currently on the ferry after having arrived at the port at 0230 this morning.

He said that Letterkenny Coaches often travel the route, traveling to ski resorts in the Alps: "This morning was the worst ever - a perfect storm, a high volume of traffic due to the first Easter holidays since Covid restrictions lifted, bad weather delaying ferries," he said.
