Emily kisses her World Champion trophy after securing the title in Montreal, Canada last Friday
World Irish Dancing champion Emily Colangelo is due at Donegal Airport, Carrickfinn this morning.
The 18-year-old Dungloe dancer secured her third title in a row at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Montreal, Canada on Friday.
Her flight is due in around 12.50pm.
She is looking forward to meeting all her friends when she comes back but knows the school work and the forthcoming examinations must now take priority.
"So I’ve just won my third world championship title and I’m absolutely thrilled. I wouldn’t be here without the amazing team of family, teachers and friends behind me.
"I’m sitting my exams in June. I just completed a few of my oral and practical exams the day before I left for Canada actually!
"It takes a lot of hard work and discipline to balance school life and dancing life but dancing definitely gives me a break from the books!
For now, I'm heading straight back home to study for my upcoming exams as that will be the main priority."
But Emily admits, dancing is never too far from her thoughts!
"I’d love to do professional dancing after I’ve done my Leaving Cert but I’ll definitely take the summer off to enjoy myself first. My absolute dream would be to be a part of Riverdance someday."
