Animal charity says 'suspicious' number of cats missing in Donegal Town

Three cats are missing from within a small area of Donegal Town

Respected rescue charity Animals In Need has expressed concerns about three cats going missing from within a small area of Donegal Town.

The cats are all much-loved family pets and their devastated owners - all in the Drumrooske area of the town - have been desperately looking for their pets which all went missing last weekend.

A spokesperson for Animals in Need said: "For three cats to go missing within an area of 0.5km within three days is pretty suspicious.

"Does anyone have any ideas or suspicions of what's going on? This is a sad situation for three families who are desperately waiting for the return of their beloved cats."

One of the owners said: "We are really grateful for everyone keeping an eye out. We are really missing our wee princess here. Been out in the middle of the nights looking for all three."

Another of the owners said of her cat: "I’m absolutely heartbroken. She was my best friend. If anyone has seen her do the right thing and help her get home."
