The new facility at Drumlonagher, Donegal Town
Minister of Health, Stephen Donnelly TD. will officially open the new state-of-the-art Donegal Town Primary Care Centre this coming Friday, April, 21
This ceremony will mark the official opening of the centre which will provide a range of services such as Primary Care, PHN Services, CIT Nurses, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Home Help, Psychology, Community Medical Doctors, CAMHS, CDNT, Ambulance Service, Community Healthcare Network, and GP Services.
The centre was designed by William Donoghue & Associates and is located at Drumlonagher, on the outskirts of the town with construction work carried out by local contractor, Glebe Builders.
A HSE spokesperson said: “This new development will provide state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate a range of primary care services within a single Primary Care facility.
“There will also be a capacity to book rooms for other services/professions so that additional services may be accommodated in the future.
“This new facility will be a welcome addition to the HSE services provided to the town of Donegal and the surrounding areas, and will improve access to, and the standard of services and facilities that the population requires."
The centre sits in a development which also includes Donegal Town Service Station, the Fire Station and Donegal Town Public Services Centre. There are further plans to develop a nursing home on an adjacent site.
