Minister Chambers with the Fianna Fail representatives in Letterkenny on Sunday night
Mica and transport issues featured prominently when Minister Jack Chambers TD met with Fianna Fáil councillors and County Executive Members in Letterkenny on Sunday night.
Attendees were given the opportunity to raise local concerns with the Minister of State for Transport and Fianna Fáil Director of Elections for the 2024 local elections.
A common theme across all contributions was the importance of the mica issue and the need for progress with a number of matters and local feedback raised by representatives.
Minister Chambers acknowledged the strong advocacy of local councillors and would reflect their feedback to Minister O’Brien. He also outlined Minister O’Brien’s commitments to progressing solutions for affected householders.
In relation to the TEN-T transport network plans for Donegal, Minister Chambers received strong representations from members on the need to progress the process with Transport Infrastructure Ireland as well as advancing A5/N2 for regional connectivity, road safety and economic development.
He added there would be further progress on the TEN-T during 2023 and emphasised the Government's commitment to the National Development Plan to ensure balanced regional development and enhanced infrastructure for the North-West.
