Casualty rescued following injury incident at Secret Waterfall

The Killybegs Coast Guard boat gets ready to depart on their rescue mission

Killybegs Coast Guard Boat and Shore teams were tasked this Saturday evening at 5.41pm to a casualty who had a lower leg injury and was on the shoreline at the Secret Waterfall at Largy near Fintra Bay.

Also tasked were the National Ambulance Service (NAS) and Killybegs Fire Service.

The casualty was extracted by the Killybegs rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) and was taken to the slipway in Killybegs Harbour where it was met by the ambulance for further treatment of the casualty.

"This was a textbook incident and a great example of interagency cooperation. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery," a spokesperson for the team said
