Dangerous jellyfish have been spotted in the Portnoo waters
Jellyfish that have been menacing local swimmers around the pier in Portnoo.
There were dozens of both Barrell Jellyfish and Compass Jellyfish swimming around just before high tide on Sunday morning and locals are warning they may still be in the area.
The Compass Jellyfish can deliver a painful sting to anyone who comes into contact with its tentacles, although still unpleasant, the Barrell Jellyfish sting is much milder in comparison.
"Anyone thinking of going into the water should be mindful of these jellyfish and avoid them if at all possible," said one local.
