Two new boat coxswain have been appointed to Killybegs Coast Guard, one of whom is the unit's first female in the role.
A spokesperson said: "Killybegs Coast Guard are delighted and extremely proud to tell you all that after being assessed today, that Conor O'Donoghue and Amay Conneely have been appointed Designated Boat Coxswain of the Killybegs Coast Guard RHIB.
"Many years of hard work, a lot of training and countless courses have all paid of and we could not be happier for you two. We salute you."
"Amay is now the first female coxswain in the history of the Killybegs Coast Guard Station and we as a team say 'well done.'
CConor and Amay joined the same day with the Killybegs Coast Guard team here and its only fitting they are crossed this milestone together."
The assessment took place on Saturday and was conducted by Operations & Training Officer Marine Management Jason Connery.
"We thank him for his time, patience and valuable feedback," the spokesperson said.
