Killaghtee Festival makes a welcome return after the huge success of last year’s event.
And once again, the festival boat trip looks set to be one of the highlights.

The trip takes in St John’s Point and this is a wonderful opportunity to see some of Donegal’s most stunning scenery.

A spokesperson said: “There may even be some wildlife on view.”

Due to tides, the tour will leave from Killybegs, using the bigger boat of Atlantic Coastal Cruises.

“The trip will be one to two hours long, depending on interest. We hope you can join us for what is likely to be a highlight of the weekend.”

The boat trip takes place on Sunday, August 27 at 6pm. Tickets cost €15 and are on sale at www.killaghtee.ie

If last year’s level of interest is anything to go by, they will be snapped up very quickly.

Killaghtee Festival gets underway on Friday, August 25 with a fancy dress competition and a marching band on Main Street.

Activities continue throughout Saturday in a number of locations around the parish. Early risers can enjoy dawn yoga at St John’s Point. There will be a heritage treasure trail, more yoga, a picnic in the park with entertainment and bouncy castle, a sound bath, and live music in the street with The Minertones from 7pm.

Sunday’s programme includes a craft market, a gong bath, a barbecue, sports day, and Sunday social, as well as the much anticipated boat trip.

This festival is a wonderful celebration of community and of all that this parish has to offer in terms of its stunning scenery, rich heritage and of course, its people.
