Letterkenny University Hospital is second most overcrowded in country today

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show that LUH is Ireland's second most overcrowded hospital this morning

Letterkenny University Hospital is the second most overcrowded hospital in Ireland this morning.

The latest figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there were 43 people waiting for a bed.

The INMO say that 14 patients were in the emergency department waiting on a bed with 29 people elsewhere awaiting a bed.

Across the country, 481 admitted patients were waiting for beds this morning with 332 patients waiting in the emergency department, while 149 were in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

Only University Hospital, Limerick, where there were 82 patients awaiting admission to a bed, had a higher number with 42 in Cavan and 38 in University Hospital, Galway.
