Grainne Cunningham, Donegal Town
The death has occurred peacefully at Donegal Community Hospital of Grainne Cunningham, Ashdoon Brae, Donegal Town.

Sadly missed by her sister, Baba, sister-in-law, Fran, nieces and nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and extended family.  Also sadly missed by her long time friend and neighbour, Christine.

Remains arriving at St Mary Church Killymard for 7pm today, Wednesday. Removal on Thursday to St Conal’s Church, Doochary arriving at 6.30 pm.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 12noon in St Conal’s Church, Doochary with burial immediately afterwards in Leitirmacaward Graveyard.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Donegal Community Hospital Patients Comfort Fund or Letterkenny University Hospital Oncology Unit care of any family member or Faulkner Funeral Directors.

Ann Boyle, (née Irvine), Dooey, Lettermacaward 

The death has occurred of Ann Boyle, (née Irvine), Dooey, Lettermacaward and Glenarm, Co. Antrim, 22

August 2023. Very peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Connell, much loved mother of Ailis, John, Conal, Eithne, Liam and Maura.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters-in-law Louise, Geraldine and Annette, sons-in-law Frieder, Steve and David, her loving grandchildren Dervla, Ciara, Niamh, Clíodhna, Catriona, Orla, Conán, Ailíse, Cian, Eoin, Lauren, Ella and

Sophie, her great-grandchild Charlie, her niece Maria Irvine-Meegan and her extended family, relatives and friends.

House Strictly Private. Reposing at McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe, F94 9D68 on Wednesday August 23 to 5pm with a private removal afterwards to her home. Funeral Mass on Thursday August 24 at 1pm in St. Bridget’s Church, Lettermacaward, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rest in Eternal Peace. Family flowers only please. 

Mandy Mitchell, Glassan, Carrigart

The death has taken place of Mandy Mitchell, Glassan, Carrigart.

His remains are reposing at the residence of his nephew, Danny next door.

Funeral from there on Thursday going to the Church of St. John the Baptist for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Christina Gallagher, Derryherk, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Christina Gallagher, Derryherk, Ballyshannon. 

She passed away unexpectedly at Sligo University Hospital. Beloved daughter of the late Paddy and Mary Gallagher, and sister of the late Kathleen Gallagher.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving family, her brothers Michael, Anthony, Patrick-James and Johnny, her sister Carmel Gillespie, brother-in-law Eddie Gillespie, nephews Karl, Edward and Sean, and all her relatives, neighbours and friends.
 
Reposing at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran (F94E92F) on Wednesday, August 23 from 5pm to 7pm. All welcome. funeral cortége will depart from Derryherk, Ballyshannon on Thursday, August 24 at 10.30am via Newtown Rd and Church Rd, Bundoran to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

The sudden death has taken place of Paddy Joe Brogan of Rockhill, Dunfanaghy.

Beloved son of Neily and Kathleen Brogan. He will be sadly missed by his brother Neil Martin, his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Wake is taking place at his home. Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy, on Thursday, August 24, at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Bernadette (Bernie) Sweeney, (née Jennings) Dungloe and Tyrone

The death has taken place of Bernadette (Bernie) Sweeney (née Jennings) of Fintona, County Tyrone and Termon, Dungloe.

Beloved wife of Paud and loving mother of Brian, Colm and Johnny. Sadly missed by all her grandchildren and friends. Reposing at McGlynns Funeral Home Dungloe.

Raymond Byrne, Creevy, Ballyshanonn

The death has occurred of Raymond Byrne, Creevy, Ballyshanonn.

Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Carmel, daughter Rachael, son Mark, his son-in-law Des, and daughter-in-law Herion, his grandchildren Alex, Callum, Abhay and Isabelle, his sister Colette and brother Des, his sister-in-law , brother in-law, nieces, nephews and all his extended family.

The death has taken place of Daniel (Danny) Meehan, Castle Street, Donegal Town, in his 100th year, peacefully at Donegal Community Hospital.

Predeceased by his wife Betty and grandson Daniel,

Sadly missed by his family, Ann (Kevin), Peter (Joan), Elizabeth (Charlie), Noreen (Connie), Mary,  Seamus (Karen) and Theresa (John), grandchildren, great grandchildren and his extended family.

Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town on Wednesday at 11am with funeral immediately afterwards in Clar Graveyard.

Girlie Gallagher (née Drein) Letterkenny 

The sudden death has taken place of Girlie Gallagher (née Drein), 22, Muckish Ave. Letterkenny (F92 TKH7)

Predeceased by her loving husband, Hughie.

Forever cherished by her sons Troy (London) and Hugh (Dublin), daughters Antoinette (Belgium) and Kerry (Letterkenny), sons-in-law Madhu and Kevin, daughter-in-law Daisy, grandchildren Holly, Hugh and Conor, sister Josephine Parke (Letterkenny), brother Joseph (Dublin) and all her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Liam S MacDaid, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin and Fermanagh

The Diocese of Clogher has confirmed the funeral arrangements for Bishop Liam S. MacDaid, Bishop-Emeritus of Clogher, who died suddenly while on holiday in France on August 15.

Bishop Liam’s body will arrive at St Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan, tomorrow, Friday 25 August 25 at 3pm.

Following the Liturgy of Reception, Bishop Liam’s body will repose at the Cathedral until the conclusion of Night Prayer of the Church which will commence at 9.45pm. 

This will enable all to pay their respects to our late Bishop.

The Funeral Mass for Bishop MacDaid, including Midday Prayer from the Prayer of the Church for the Faithful Departed, will be celebrated on Saturday August 26 at 12 noon, followed by burial in the Cathedral grounds.
