Murroe National School is planning to add a new modular classroom.

The small school, on the outskirts of Dunfanaghy, has sought planning permission for the new development.

The Chairperson of the Board of Management of Scoil Cholmcille, Murroe NS, Fr Martin Doohan, lodged an application with Donegal County Council.

The proposed development would see the construction of one modular classroom and all its associated site works.

In the 2022/23 school term, there were 48 pupils registered at Murroe NS.

Donegal County Council anticipate that a decision will be made by the end of October.
